04/13/2017 12:01 AMMore than three million children in the USA have received an age-appropriate dictionary from volunteers who have participated in The Dictionary Project. This year, all of the third graders in Branford will be again included in this countrywide count.
The Rotary Club of Branford has adopted The Dictionary Project as one of its initiatives for 2016-’17. More than 250 dictionaries were hand-delivered to students, teachers, and administrators at the Mary Tisko, Mary Murphy, and John Sliney elementary schools in Branford. A major focus of Rotary International is to eliminate illiteracy.
