On April 8, 121 Pilgrim Fellowship (PF) high school students and their sponsors left for New Orleans, Louisiana. On Aug. 29, 2005, the people of the Gulf Coast had their lives turned upside down when Hurricane Katrina ripped through hundreds of communities; 80 percent of New Orleans was under water. The continued rebuilding efforts from the original hurricane and the weather damage of five tornadoes that touched down just four weeks ago, along with 29 percent of the residents living in poverty, is why PF chose to go to New Orleans this year to help.

PF, an outreach ministry of The First Congregational Church of Guilford, is an inter-denominational group of high school students. To contribute to this program and trip, send a check made out to First Congregational Church of Guilford to: Pilgrim Fellowship, First Congregational Church, 122 Broad Street, Guilford, CT, 06437. Write “Mission Trip Donation” in the memo line.
