Beacon Awards to Honor Volunteers at 5th Annual Celebration

Back in 2013, my colleagues and I were marveling at our Person of the Week feature and the number of great people we had collectively met in our history here at Shore. In these stories, we would often meet neighbors who were so extraordinary and who worked tirelessly to help our shoreline, we just felt the need to thank them in a really big way. And so, the Beacon Awards were created.

We are now planning our fifth annual ceremony during which we honor 15 exceptional individuals who have demonstrated our Beacon mantra of being someone who “selflessly steps up to help fulfill the shoreline community’s promise as a place of opportunity, wellbeing, and safety for all.”

Our fifth annual Beacon Awards will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the gorgeous Water’s Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook, and our committee is already busy at work to make it the fantastic evening that it has been for the last four years.

Now we need your help: We’re currently seeking nominations for this year!
