A cast of more than 60 students from Branford’s Walsh Intermediate School (WIS) are currently rehearsing the WIS 2017 spring musical, James and the Giant Peach. The show tells the exciting story of James’s trip to New York City with his insect friends. WIS 6th grader Liev Shpitalnk (center) plays James, shown here getting carried away by (from left) Shae Lepre (Ladybug), Dorian Hayes (Centipede), Kyle Bissell (Grasshopper), and Bella Rarick (Spider) (not available for photo: Gabriel Villa as Earthworm). Students between the ages of 10 and 13 make up the cast, stage crew, and technical crew and are also featured members of the pit orchestra.

WIS presents James and the Giant Peach on Friday March 31, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 1, at 3 p.m. Tickets, $10, are available at 203-418-PLAY (7529).
