Health and Wellness Fair Returns to Madison

Looking for a way to shake off some of those questionable winter health habits? The Madison Chamber of Commerce is holding its second Health & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, March 8, giving residents a chance to check out business and products that support healthy living.

The first wellness fair was held in 2015 and was designed to be an every-other-year event, but due to its popularity, the Chamber is now making it an annual event, according to Chamber Executive Director Eileen Banisch.

“Prior to 2015, we had a Madison Challenge health and wellness program with hundreds of participants, and it concluded with a health fair,” she said. “However, this event is open to the general public, not just program participants.”

More than 30 chamber members who offer services related to improving the health and wellness of the mind, body, or spirit will participate, according to Banisch. Participants at the fair include Community Healthcare VNA, The Homestead of Madison, The Hearth at Tuxis Pond, Coastal Chiropractic, Hammonasset Crossfit, and CT Pharmacy among others.

Banisch said the goal of the fair is to raise awareness about the number of health and wellness options in the community.

“We are always seeking ways to give more exposure to Chamber businesses, and those serving the health and wellness needs of our citizens comprise a large part of our membership,” she said.

The Madison Chamber of Commerce Health & Wellness Fair is Wednesday, March 8, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Mercy by the Sea, 167 Neck Road, Madison. Admission to the event is free and those interested in learning more can visit madisonct.com or call the Chamber at 203-245-7394.
