American Legion Holds Oratory Contest at VRHS

The American Legion Oratory, Post 61 conducted its local American Legion Oratory Contest at Valley Regional High School on Jan. 26. The two contestants were Zane Bouregy and Sophie Spaner. Students had to write an original, 8- to 10-minute oratory on some aspect of the Constitution and the rights, privileges, responsibilities, and duties as a citizen. Bouregy placed first and was set to move on to the District competition on Feb. 9 at the Westbrook Library.
