02/08/2017 11:01 PMDr. Ralph Stroup and Mary Ann Stroup came to the Northford Women’s Club’s January meeting and spoke about their 501c3 organization, Kenyan Health Care Initiatives, Inc. (KHCI). KHCI works with seven villages in the Central Highlands of Kenya. It makes patient care available and facilitate maternal and fetal care through a network of clinics. It also coordinates access to water, provide community-level health education, and are empowering women. The Stroups spoke about their association with Days for Girls, a global organization that makes feminine hygiene kits for rural and marginal communities. Members donated 20 packages of underwear to be used in the kits and the Women’s Club donated $200 to help their cause.
