North Branford's Berthiaume Among CT's Top Trumpeters

North Branford High School (NBHS) senior Marissa Berthiaume has been accepted to the Connecticut All-State Music Festival. Berthiaume will represent NBHS as a trumpet player in the orchestra. To earn this honor, Berthiaume received one of the top trumpet scores in the state. Auditions took place at North Haven High School on January 28.

This is the latest addition to Betrhiaume's musical accomplishments of the 2016-17 school year. She has also been accepted into the Southern Region Music Festival, and will be the first NBHS student to participate in the New England Music Festival this March. The festival will be hosted Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. Band, Chorus and Orchestra concerts will take place on Saturday, March 18.

The Connecticut All-State Music Festival, organized by the CT Music Educators Association, will be held on Friday, March 30 and ​Saturday, April 1 at the CT Convention Center in Hartford. The event concludes with the All-State Music Festival Concert on the afternoon of April 1 (open to the public). The festival schedule will be posted at http://www.cmea.org/allstate
