External Tech Glitch Delays Some Early Dismissal Notification in Branford

The Branford Public School district's efforts to notifiy parents and guardians of today's weather early dismissal went out on several channels to reach families in time; but some of those channels were experiencing "external technical issues" and were not working as they should.

A note from Superintendent of Schools Hamlet Hernandez explaining the situation was posted as a temporary landing page for those chekcing the district website, www.branford.k12.ct.us

The note reads as follows:

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions, the District is following an early dismissal schedule today, January 31, 2017.

Early this morning, the District used their notification systems to announce the early dismissal. Any District-wide dismissal notification is always posted on the District website and announced on television stations. Additionally, the District uses voicemail, email, and text messaging to notify parents and guardians, but unfortunately due to external technical issues, these messages were delayed.

We apologize for any inconvenience the delay in voicemail, email and text messaging may have caused you and your family.

Warm regards,

Mr. Hamlet M. Hernandez
