Do you have your Christmas sweater ready? A Santa’s hat or holiday bells? Come dressed for the holiday celebration set to occur at Westbrook’s Town Green on Sunday, Dec. 4. The event begins with a holiday parade that steps off at 4 p.m. from Kingfisher Lane and South Main Street and ends at the Town Green. Once at the Green, paraders and residents await the tree-lighting ceremony that kicks off events on the Town Green.

“This year the tree will be lit by Lester Scott and his family,” said the event’s publicist, Lew Daniels, also the town library’s director.

Musical performances of holiday selections will be part of the opening ceremony.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will position themselves on the Town Green where they can receive the youngest visitors.

As in the past, there will be a communal bonfire—along with ingredients for those interested to make s’mores—an artist drawing caricatures, horse-drawn carriage rides, craft tables, ice sculpting demonstrations, and refreshments for all.

“Lots of good cheer!” said Daniels. “Everything is free.”
