Families Helping Families (FHF) issued a challenge to the Clinton community to help raise funds for Clinton dispatcher Dave MacDonald to buy a new handicap-equipped van to replace his 20-year-old van. The challenge for the community to raise $3,000 in three months, at which point FHF would match with $3,000 of its money.

The Clinton community raised the $3,000 in record time. FHF added $3,500 to that amount and the $6,500 put the drive to provide a new $30,000 van for MacDonald over the top. The van has been ordered and the State of Connecticut will equip the van with everything MacDonald will need to help him operate it.
