On July 8, more than 800 employees, friends, and family gathered for a centennial luncheon to celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of The Lee Company’s founder, Leighton Lee II.

In 1948, Lee founded The Lee Company at his dining room table in Rocky Hill. The company is a world leader in the manufacture of miniature precision fluid control products for aerospace, Formula 1 race cars, downhole oil tools, and medical/scientific instrumentation. Headquartered in Westbrook, the company has manufacturing and office space at two locations in Westbrook and one in Essex. The company now employs more than 1,000 people, most of whom work and reside along the Connecticut shoreline.
