08/17/2016 12:00 AMThe Old Saybrook Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Maple Avenue near Cambridge Court West on Tuesday, Aug. 16 shortly after 8 p.m.
At approximately 8:11 PM a vehicle was traveling southbound on Maple Avenue in the area of Cambridge Court West when the pedestrian was struck. The victim was pronounced deceased by physicians at the Middlesex Medical Center, Shoreline.
The operator of the vehicle remained on scene with his vehicle.
Police are interviewing multiple witnesses as part of the detailed investigation. Old Saybrook Police Department's accident reconstruction team is also on scene processing and investigating.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
