To mark his retirement after 36 years with Branford U.S. Post Office, letter carrier Ron Heins received a special delivery of good wishes with a celebration in his honor on June 15.

Heins officially completes his last week of mail delivery in Branford on Saturday, June 18, wrapping up a total 40-year career in government service, including four years serving with the U.S. Coast Guard. The Northford resident is a friendly face known to many residents of Pawson Park in Branford, where he's kept the same delivery route for the past three decades.

Heins and his wife, Jackie, as well as their grandchildren and family members were joined by a large contingent of his co-workers at Dockside Seafood & Grill in Branford to celebrate his retirement.
