John Winthrop Middle School hosted a regional State Debate competition on May 4. Twenty-seven teams from eastern Connecticut participated. Six teams that had a win-win record, winning both their affirmative and negative debates, moved on to the next round of competition. While every John Winthrop team won at least one round, the team of Jamie Pullin and Regan Brenneman was scheduled to compete next at the Connecticut Bar Association on May 18 after winning both their affirmative and negative debates.
