• Quinnipiac University’s entry-level master’s degree in occupational therapy program was ranked the best in Connecticut and number 22 overall in a peer assessment survey of 2017 Best Graduate Schools conducted by U.S. News & World Report. Also, the university’s master of social work program has been granted initial accreditation through February 2020 by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Charitable Contributions
• Connex Credit Union recently announced the charities that will receive donations from its coins-for-change program during the second quarter of 2016. This philanthropic initiative has been a successful addition to its ConnexCares program, donating more than $50,000 since its inception. Connex’s coin counting machines charge a five percent fee to Connex members and a seven percent fee to non-members, but donates 100 percent of the fees to various organizations in the community. Coin cashing machines can be found at four Connex branches in Guilford, Hamden, Meriden and North Haven. Through June 30, members and non-members can donate by visiting the Connex North Haven branch located at 412 Washington Avenue to donate to Y.L.T.R.A.P.P.E.D. Young Ladies Taking Responsibility and Portraying Proper Educational Development (Y.L.T.R.A.P.P.E.D) is an organization whose goal is to equip young women aged 14 to 21 with the knowledge and skills to become productive, successful members of society. Funds raised would help with the college-readiness program.
