Halloween Dance Party at the Madison Arts Barn

The Madison Arts Barn will host a Halloween Dance Party on Sunday, Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with music, costumes, games, and fun—and this time, it’s for the whole family.

The event was inspired by past successful events put on by The Barn including several theatrical productions and the very popular Daddy Daughter Dance according to Amy Johnson, marketing coordinator for The Barn.

“Every year we try to include a variety of activities that appeal to our broad target audience, grades 5 through 12, as well as, some community-wide events to include all age groups,” she said. “We’ve had numerous requests from parents over the years to have a family-style dance. We decided this Halloween would be the perfect opportunity to give them what they wanted.”

The Barn is hoping for a sold out event, which could bring almost 200 people, ghosts, and ghouls.

“With our love of all things theatrical, The Barn will be decorated to the hilt and costumed actors [student volunteers] will interact will our guests,” she said. “We have invited our extremely talented DJ Bryan to play some great Halloween music and he has a lot of great dance related games and activities planned, including a dance contest, and a mummy making game!”

While costumes are optional, there will be awards handed out for the best costumes among other activities.

“This event will not disappoint,” she said. “There will be some great, Halloween-themed games, such as pin-the-face on the jack-o-lantern, and toilet paper toss. Face painting and airbrush tattoos will also be available.”

The Barn café will also be open for the event, offering drinks, candy, popcorn, pizza, pretzels, and many more treats for sale.

All proceeds from the event will go toward hosting future events and programs for the shoreline youth.

Interested families can pre-order tickets online on The Barn’s website www.madisonartsbarn.org under the Halloween Family Dance Party Tab. Admission is $10 online and $15 at the door for children; parents are free. Children under the age of 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
