The Fresh Market to Open Oct. 21 in Guilford

While the grand opening of Guilford Commons is tentatively set for early November, the shopping center’s anchor store, The Fresh Market, will open its doors a little earlier.

The store has planned its official launch for Wednesday, Oct. 21. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and opening day activities will included chef demonstrations, food sampling, and drawings for The Fresh Market gift cards, according to a press release.

“We are excited to open our new store in Guilford and to expand our reach in Connecticut,” said The Fresh Market CEO Rick Anicetti.

“We didn’t want to keep our customers waiting any longer, so we decided to open our doors early to the Guilford community,” said Carly Dennis of BRAVE Public Relations.

The 23,000-plus square foot Fresh Market will also provide approximately 90 jobs, many of which have been filled locally, according to Dennis. Interested candidates should visit http://careers.thefreshmarket.com.

Dennis also said the store will benefit the local community in other ways.

“The Fresh Market proudly partners with local businesses and local food banks in every city in which it does business,” said Dennis. “Our Guilford store will be carrying products from Hilltop Apiaries and Kerry Wood Healthy Foods.”
