Doctor Remains Incompetent for Bfd Murder Trial

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut judge has found after hearing from a psychiatrist that a former doctor remains incompetent to stand trial for the 2010 killing of a Yale University physician.

The New Haven Register reports (http://bit.ly/1UQDcSi) the judge also appointed a health care guardian Monday to recommend whether 49-year-old Lishan Wang should be given anti-psychotic drugs against his will in an effort to prepare him for trial.

Wang's public defender opposes the forced medication. The judge will hold another hearing this fall.

Wang is charged with murder in the shooting of Dr. Vajinder (vah-JIN'-der) Toor outside Toor's Branford home. Police say he also shot at Toor's pregnant wife, but missed.

Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute Wang had with Toor and other doctors when they formerly worked at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York City.
