Business and Organization Updates

• Matt Vogt recently joined the team at Enterprise Computer, LLC, which has offices at 83 West Main Street in Clinton and 71 West Main Street in Branford. Vogt currently holds almost 40 distinct certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Comptia, Labtech, and others. • David H. Tran has joined Pearce Real Estate as a residential sales associate, and will work from the New Haven office. A native of Branford and fluent Chinese speaker, he will focus on residential properties in New Haven and the shoreline towns of Branford, Guilford, and Madison.

• Patrick J. Healy of Northford, senior vice president for finance at Quinnipiac University, retired June 30 after an illustrious career that spanned four decades at the university.

• The Branford Community Foundation, a leader in supporting a variety of local philanthropic needs, programs, and services for 35 years, has elected Branford resident and native Logan Reed to its Board of Directors.

• Murphy Distributors has obtained the exclusive distribution rights to Adam Corolla’s Mangria products for Connecticut.

Awards, Grants, and Recognition

• At a meeting July 15, the Branford Economic Development Commission presented Ford of Branford with its Business Recognition Award. The EDC periodically presents the award to a Branford business that is a leader in its field and that contributes to making Branford a better place to live and work. The Ford brand has been sold in Branford for more than 80 years, with Ford of Branford at its East Main Street location since 2004 when it succeeded Wilson Ford. Ford of Branford recently completed a major expansion and renovation of its facility.

• The Branford Community Foundation has distributed a $1,700 grant to Camp Hazen YMCA for financial assistance for Branford youth to attend summer camp. The grant award represents the full cost of one two-week Resident Camp session and will provide financial assistance to three Branford youth.
