Power Outage Affecting 4,100 in Branford

Approximately 4,100 Eversource customers are without electrical power this afternoon after a construction worker, in the area of Kirkham Street by the Railroad Station, damaged a utility pole guide wire, causing the upper portion of the pole to break in half. Customers in the Kirkham Street, Maple Street, Short Beach Road and adjacent neighborhoods are affected by the power loss.

Police have closed Kirkham Street from Main Street to the intersection of Maple Street and Indian Neck Avenue while repairs are underway. At this time, there is no estimated time when electrical power will be restored to customers.

A Cooling Center has been established at the Branford Community Center, 46 Church Street.
