Walsh Students Create Bot Buddies for Children’s Hospital

Students in Grade 5 at Francis Walsh Intermediate School in Branford recently used their AWAKE day to make Bot Buddies, personalized robot friends created out of dominos, for the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. During AWAKE days, the students take time to do class projects, play games together, and do community service projects. The students created 75 Bot Buddies as gifts for children in the hospital.

Dawn Saczynski, an employee at Yale University School of Medicine and the mother of one of the students, suggested the idea for the students’ AWAKE day. For more information, visit www.ynhh.org/yale-new-haven-childrens-hospital/patient-information/botbuddy.aspx.
