Branford Rotary Student of the Month of March: Sebastian Fryer

The Branford Rotary Club Student of the Month (SOM) program at Branford High School (BHS) recognizes high-achieving juniors and seniors who have made distinctive academic contributions.

Sebastian Fryer, the son of Bill and Kelley Fryer of Branford, was nominated by his art teacher, Laura Kaiser. Sebastian is a senior at BHS and a member of Model Congress, the BHS Sailing Team, and the BHS Ski Team. He has received the Gold Key Award for Scholastic Arts and also the highest score for National Honors in Latin. His volunteer activities include the Yale Girls in Science program and the Blackstone Library Shakespeare Marathon. He is a very talented artist and very passionate about creating original and exceptional work. Upon graduating, Sebastian will attend the School of Art Institute in Chicago to pursue his goal of being an illustrator.

The Branford Rotary Club is in its 86th year of existence, having been charted on Oct. 15, 1928. The Rotary Club of Branford is an organization of women and men representing a cross-section of local business and professional leaders, living and/or employed in Branford, who work as volunteers on a variety of local and international projects to improve the quality of life in their home and world communities. The Branford Rotary Club meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. at the Parthenon Diner, 374 East Main Street, Branford. Guests of members are welcome to attend luncheons, and membership inquiries are encouraged.
