Branford and Guilford Foundations Support SARAH Recreation Programs

From left, starting fifth from left, back, are SARAH Foundation Executive Director Denise Rose, Guilford Foundation Board Vice President Roger Joyce, Branford Foundation Board Member Stephanie Farber, Guilford Foundation President Jim Mancini, and Guilford and Branford foundations Executive Director Liza Petra along with the SARAH Special Olympics Connecticut Track Team.

The Branford Community Foundation and the Guilford Foundation supported SARAH Special Olympics and Recreation programs with grant donations totaling $7,500. These donations provided transportation, uniforms, and fees for the 2015 Special Olympic Summer Games that were held recently at Southern Connecticut State University.

The SARAH Family of Agencies (www.sarahfoundation.org) has been enriching lives of those with differing abilities since 1957. SARAH provides advocacy, services, and supports for children and adults with intellectual and other disabilities who live in Connecticut.

The Branford Community Foundation and the Guilford Foundation work within their respective towns to meet the needs and enhance the quality of life in their respective towns. They do this by raising funds from people who care, investing those funds wisely, and using a portion of the proceeds to invest back into their communities through nonprofit and service organizations. Members of the SARAH Special Olympics Track Team thanked the board members and staff at Track practice at North Branford High School.
