Cut-a-Thon Supports Hunter Pageau

The first annual HOPE for Hunter Pageau Cut-a-Thon is on Sunday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charlene Elizabeth Salon, 48 North Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford. The benefit event will help with Hunter Pageau’s extensive medical expenses, not fully covered by insurance. Pageau is a nine-year-old boy who has SMARD, an extremely rare and aggressive disease causing paralysis and ventilator/life support dependency. The disease projects a life expectancy of two years old. Pageau is one of only 12 people in the United States and 80 in the world with this disease. There are no formal organizations in place due to the profound rarity of this disease.

This event will offer men’s/women’s/children’s shampoo/haircuts for $20, facial waxing for $8, spray tans for $20, and polish changes for $8, along with a raffle for guests. For more information about the event, call the Charlene Elizabeth staff at 203-793-7266.

If you cannot attend but would like to help Pageau, donations are accepted online at www.youcaring.com (search for SMARD and Pageau’s page appears). Donations may also be sent to: People’s United Bank, c/o Hunter Pageau Trust, 79 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT 06473, with checks made payable to Hunter Pageau Trust. Pageau’s updates can be followed online at www.facebook.com/HOPEforHunterPageau.
