Joel Raiti Awarded Eagle Scout

Joel P. Raiti, a member of Guilford’s Boy Scout Troop 471, was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor presided over by Scoutmaster Michael Scott and attended by State Representative Sean Scanlon, Selectwoman Cindy Cartier, Raiti’s fellow Scouts, and family and friends. This is the highest rank in Scouting that a Scout can achieve, after earning a minimum of 21 merit badges and designing and implementing a special project that benefits the community. Raiti’s Eagle project was to revitalize the hummingbird garden at the Nathaniel B. Greene Community Center with new plantings, birdhouses, and birdfeeders.

Raiti graduates next month from Guilford High School and will be attending UConn’s special digital media program in the fall.
