The Branford Rotary Club continues its Student of the Month (SOM) program at Branford High School (BHS) by recognizing high-achieving juniors and seniors who have made distinctive academic contributions. Marshall Borrus, the son of Joanne Borrus of Branford, was nominated by his math teacher, Tom Webster. Borrus is a junior at BHS and a member of the National Honor Society. He is a class officer and member of the Math Club, Ski Team, Track Teams, Environmental Club, and Science Olympiad. Webster noted that while Borrus is being recognized for his efforts in math, he is currently taking AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus. In his spare time, Borrus volunteers at the Blackstone Library and is a USGA academic All American first team gymnast. He was presented with a gift card by Laurie Miers of Smoothie King in Branford and a gift card to Amazon from the Branford Rotary club.
