Guilford Schools Receives Risk Management Award


Guilford Public Schools have been selected as a 2015 CIRMA Risk Management Achievement Award Recipient. The Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency’s (CIRMA) Risk Management Achievement Award was created to honor the outstanding efforts of municipalities and school districts to manage risk. Guilford Public Schools is being recognized in the category of Substantial Impact on Loss Cost Factors for the results risk management have had on reducing workers’ compensation loss costs. As a result of the district’s efforts, lost time claims have been reduced by 70 percent over the past five years. The award is a testament to the district’s dedication to improving safety, lowering losses, and ultimately saving taxpayer dollars. Accepting the award for Guilford Public Schools at a ceremony on Friday, May 22 will be Benefits Coordinator Sharon Milroy and Director of Operations Cliff Gurnham (pictured).
