Branford, CT- October 2014- Food allergy management experts, Gina Mennett Lee, M.Ed. and Laurel J. Francoeur, Esq., announce the release of their new book, the Preschool Food Allergy Handbook. One in thirteen children in the United States has a food allergy. This is a significant increase from even ten years ago, and preschools have been the first to feel the impact. With the potential for a food allergic child to have a life-threatening reaction while in school, an effective plan to manage food allergies in the preschool setting is essential. This handbook provides direct guidance on the management of food allergies. “We connect parents and preschool providers with the resources they need to make preschool a safe and positive experience for children with food allergies,” states Francoeur.

The handbook provides an overview of pertinent research, laws and the newly released CDC guidelines for the management of food allergies in the school setting.

Mennett Lee explains, “We provide easy-to-implement solutions to common challenges. With checklists, forms, samples and pull-out posters, this handbook is meant to be a hands-on tools for educators and parents.”

A former teacher and trained school administrator Mennett Lee has a comprehensive understanding of the school setting. She works internationally as a food allergy educator and consultant as owner of FoodAllergyConsulting.com. Francoeur provides education and consulting services as a lawyer and the owner of Green Laurel Documents. Both are also parents of children with food allergies.
