SCA vs. Legacy Permit Hearing Postponed to Sept. 25

Notices around Stony Creek bearing news of the planned Sept. 16 ZBA public hearing on the Legacy Theatre permit now carry "postponed" as part of the message. The hearing is now set to take place Sept. 25.

The Stony Creek Association (SCA) will be heard on a new night, Thurs. Sept. 25, following the postponment of the Sept. 16 Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting.

Likely in anticipation of a large crowd, the venue has been changed from Canoe Brook Senior Center to Branford Fire Headquarters. The special meeting of the ZBA starts at 7 p.m. The public hearing is last on the agenda.

The public hearing will center on SCA's appeal of a Zoning Enforcement Officer's (ZEO) decision to sign off on a tenant fit-up permit for Legacy Theatre. The SCA feels a special exception permit should have been sought instead of a permit routed through Town Hall. The Branford Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at the Branford Fire Headquarters, 45 North Main Street, on Thurs. Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
