Knocked Down Snowman Spurs Assault Arrest for Clinton Man

James Knudsen

A Clinton man is under arrest after police say he forced his way into his neighbor's home and assaulted two juveniles with a pool cue - over the destruction of a snowman.

According to Clinton Police, James Knudsen, 22, of Old Mill Road broke the entry door of his neighbor's home, grabbed a pool stick and began swinging it over his head. At some point Knudsen dropped the pool cue and punched two juvenile males, ages 16 and 17,  in the face. The youths suffered minor abrasions and lacerations to their faces but did not require further medical attention.

Police believe Knudsen's attack was prompted over an earlier incident when a snowman in Knudsen's yard was knocked down presumably by the victims.

Knudsen has been charged with home invasion, burglary in the second degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, two counts of assault in the third degree, and disordery conduct.  He is being held on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on Feb. 14.
