Sending Out 2013

It was a bittersweet gathering of Clinton residents at the Last Night event, put on by the Clinton 350th Anniversary Committee on December 28. This celebration, culminating a year of fabulous events commemorating the 350

th

year anniversary of the town, was an all out party that sent 2013 out with one last town wide hoorah!

From 7 to 11:30 p.m. over 200 attendees danced the night away at the town hall to the music of Bobby G. surrounded by a professionally lit and decorated atmosphere. In addition, residents tried their luck, with funny money, in the replicated casino room, which was a real hit.

“The party went very well,” said John Allen of the 350

th

Committee.  “Everyone seemed to enjoy the casino tables downstairs and plenty of folks were dancing upstairs in the beautifully decorated auditorium. We wrapped up the 350th year in great style, with Last Night, just the way we hoped, lots of great folks gathering together to celebrate our great town.”

He added, “We had a great year, starting with the Launch in February, just a week before the great blizzard that crippled the east coast. Memorial Day and Heritage Days over Labor Day weekend proved how much everyone in Clinton enjoys getting together and enjoying the town and Community Spirit Days in October should become an annual event.”

Allen pointed out that seeing the tremendous outpouring of donations in both time and money from both individuals and the town's businesses throughout the year deserves everyone's heartfelt gratitude and the Committee hopes that  the pride and spirit that everyone found over the past 12 months continues, and is not just a "once every 50 year" phenomena.
