Filmed in Guilford, 'The Green' Screens June 24

Writer/producer Paul Marcarelli, shown here (standing) with cast and crew on the first day of filming his indie movie The Green in Guilford (in August 2010), hopes the public will join him to see the results on the big screen on Friday, June 24 at The Kate in Old Saybrook.

Indie film fans, especially any who followed (or may have participated in) the making of The Green last summer in Guilford, are encouraged by writer/producer and Guilfordite Paul Marcarelli to join him at a celebratory screening and reception of the movie on Friday, June 24 at The Kate in Old Saybrook.

The sneak preview at the Connecticut Film Festival will be the first big-screen showing of The Green, much of which was filmed in Guilford locations with Guilford residents as extras.

"The price of admission includes a talk back and a catered reception after the screening, which should be a lot of fun and an opportunity to celebrate the completion of the film, with everyone from the area who helped make the film a success," Marcarelli told the Courier.

The Friday, June 24 Sneak Preview of The Green takes place at 7 p.m. at The Kate, Old Saybrook. Tickets are on sale now; seating is limited. For details, visit www.ctfilmfest.com/2011.
