Three Cited in Branford Underage Drinking Compliance Checks

Branford Police officers conducted compliance checks for underage drinkers at three establishments in Branford on the evening of Nov. 24 (before Thanksgiving). The establishments included Margarita’s, SBC, and Donovan’s Reef.

The police agencies initiative, sponsored in part by the Branford Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, was conducted as part of the continuing effort to prevent underage drinking and intoxicated driving as well as preventing alcohol related motor vehicle crashes.

During the compliance checks, police located Peter Kosciuk, 20, of 104 South Montowese Street, Hannah Mills, 20, of 15 Brookhills Road, and Alexandra Hershman, 19, of 224 Hanover Street Boston, in Donovan’s Reef. All received violation infractions for possession of alcohol by a minor with a fine of $136. Both Margarita’s and SBC had no violations.

As part of the investigation, the State of Connecticut Liquor Control Division will be notified of the violations.
