Fire on Electrical Lines Causes Power Outage and Road Closure in Madison

This morning around 10 a.m. the Madison Fire Department responded to Green Hill Road, near Warpas Road on the report of power lines on fire. Connecticut Light & Power were on scene assessing the problem. The Fire Department is unsure what caused the fire.

Power was lost at both Daniel Hand High School and Walter C. Polson Middle School during the incident.

For approximately one hour Green Hill Road was closed on both sides of the electrical fire.

The Madison Fire Department reported that the roads are now open and power has been restored to the area, including the two schools.

There have been no reports of any injuries.—Nicole Ball
