Five Injured in a North Branford, Two-Vehicle Accident

As the result of several 911 emergency phone calls, patrol officers from the North Branford Police Department were dispatched to Branford Road near the intersection of Valley Road to investigate a two-car motor vehicle accident with reported injuries yesterday morning.

North Branford Fire Department, Branford Police Department and the Branford Fire Department arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation. Extrication was not necessary, however, five individuals were treated at the accident scene for their injuries then immediately transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.

The motor vehicles involved in the accident were identified as a black, 1996 Volvo 850 Station Wagon and a black, 1989 Lincoln Town Car. Both motor vehicles sustained heavy collision damage as a result of the accident. The names and ages of the occupants have not been released. The case remains open pending further investigation.
