With the rise of fast fashion, the average American throws out more than 80 pounds of clothes every year. Learning how to mend holes in favorite clothing items can prolong the life of those clothes and reduce contributions to landfills.
Participants will learn basic techniques and use a provided hand-dyed shibori patch and a jean square to fashion a patch and practice stitches. No sewing experience necessary. The entry price includes the shibori-dyed fiber, a jean square, a pair of sashiko needles, and thread. Please bring sewing scissors.
