Hu Ping-Dolph Opens Hot Pot In New Haven

Hu Ping-Dolph, a restaurateur with nearly 25 years in the industry, recently opened Hot Pot, 68 Whitney Avenue, New Haven. At Hot Pot, customers cook a variety of meats, fish, and vegetables in hot broth right at their table. Hu, who lives in Madison with her husband Jonathan, is originally from Nanjing, China. In 2000, she purchased her first restaurant, Taste of China in Clinton, which became renowned all along the shoreline and beyond. She and her husband then opened New Haven’s Taste of China on Chapel Street and Steamed, featuring steamed dumplings.
