Coming Up At Breakwater Books

Breakwater Books, 81 Whitfield Street, Guilford, has announced several events for March and April.

On Sunday, March 3, at 5 p.m., Julia Allain and her book, Everything I Got, will be featured. “Julia Allain shares a lifetime of experience in sports as an athlete, a coach, a sport psychology consultant for collegiate, professional, and internationally competitive athletes. If you are ready to give it all you got, get all you can in return, and grow to be the best version of yourself, this book is for you.” There will be a discussion with lots of time for questions and answers, along with a book signing. Registration is required and can be done at breakwaterbooks.net.

On Sunday, March 10, at 5 p.m., Kira Peikoff and Baby X will be featured. “When any biological matter can be used to create life, stolen celebrity DNA sells to the highest bidder–or the craziest stalker–in this propulsive thriller. With a vivid imagining of the future, Gattaca meets Black Mirror in Kira Peikoff’s Baby X. This book was fantastic!” There will be a talk, a question and answer session, and a book signing. Register (required) at breakwaterbooks.net.

On Sunday, April 21 at 5 p.m., Kevin Holohan and So You Wanna Run a Country? will be featured. “A satirical parable of the perils of authoritarianism, nationalism, and device-dependent group-think. After almost a century of self-imposed isolation, a neo-medieval statelet suddenly volunteers to host the next season of So You Wanna Run a Country? Producers assemble the next crew of unqualified misfits whose ineptitude as they attempt to run the country will entertain billions across the globe.” Conversation, question and answer session, and signing. Register (required) at breakwaterbooks.net.
