05/29/2023 07:18 AMIn celebration of its 60th Anniversary, Goodspeed Musicals opens Its doors to the community for Open House Day with free tours on Saturday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A $10 discount is also being offered on tickets purchased from the box office during Open House Day for evening performances of all of Goodspeed’s productions in the 2023 season at The Goodspeed and The Terris theatres.
The behind-the-scenes tour of a musical will be an hour long. Participants will explore the iconic building while learning about its history and the hundreds of musicals that have been produced on its stage. More information about the tours is available at goodspeed.org.
Nearby attractions in the Connecticut River valley include the Goodspeed’s expansive lawn that is perfect for picnics, Gillette’s Castle in Gillette Castle State Park, 67 River Rd, East Haddam, and the Connecticut River Museum, 67 Main Street, Essex. Those who would like to top off their visit with a show can attend Gypsy at the Goodspeed, which runs through Sunday, June 25.
