Learn the Art of Pisanki Egg Decorating

Pisanki comes from the Polish verb "pisac" which means “to write on.” It's the process of applying liquid wax to an egg with dye, often with spectacular results. This is an important Polish/Ukrainian tradition that typically takes place before Easter.

The community is invited to learn about Pisanki and dye eggs at a free event at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park Street, Guilford, adjacent to the Guilford Green, on Saturday, April 1, from2 to 4 p.m. Eggs will be provided for ages 12 and up. Younger children will have wooden eggs to color. Everyone is welcome to bring a friend or the whole family; every age is welcome.

This is a free event. A free will donation will be taken up for first aid kits for Ukrainian relief organized by St. Michael The Archangel Church in New Haven. For more information, contact Christ Episcopal Church at info@christchurchguilford.org or visit www.christchurchguilford.org
