College Collections, an organization founded by college students to help fellow college students explore and sell their art, will celebrate a Creations and Libations Birthday Bash on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Chow Food & Beverage, 36 Killingworth Turnpike, Clinton.
Discounted cocktails and food will be sold, and the artists will be on hand to display and discuss their work, which includes artwork, crafts, and hand-designed apparel. There will be live music, a raffle, and more.
A $1 ticket at the door doubles as admission to the event and a ticket towards the charity raffle. Additional tickets will be available for $2 inside the event. Raffle winners will be announced at the event around 9 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Shoreline Arts Alliance (SAA) and United Way Young Leaders.
College Collections chose to give to the SAA and United Way Young Leaders because of the work they do for aspiring artists and overall health, education, and quality of life in the community.
College Collections enables artists in a college setting to expand their boundaries and create with a purpose while gaining international exposure. The goal of the organization is to create a community of people with similar artistic values to collaborate and create. College Collections provides students, professors, and alumni who are interested in art, as either a career or hobby, a platform to sell and explore the creations of those with similar experiences and interests. In the end, the goal is to create a pressure-free environment for a community that believes and values each others capabilities and content.
College Collections was founded by college students to help fellow students, and is directed to fill the gap between struggling young artists and an untapped market for their work, providing a common place to interact and collaborate. Artists can create an individual profile that expresses themselves and displays their art to be seen and purchased by all.
