Vote Yes
Vote Yes for Chester Charter continues Chester’s traditional selectmen/Town Meeting governance. At Town Meeting, voters are the legislators who decide annual budgets that affect the character and quality of our community’s health, safety, and welfare. The Charter will establish the procedures for effectively and efficiently managing the delivery of Town services. The elected Board of Selectmen and elected Fiscal Advisory Board will continue to prepare and propose budgets and capital project priorities at Town Meetings, and voters will decide.
The slogan “Keep Your Vote” is misleading and disingenuous. You will keep your vote by showing up at Town Meetings, fiscal advisory board hearings, and biennial municipal elections. Your vote counts; vote yes for Chester Charter.
