Help Move Our District Forward
I’m writing in support of Democratic candidate Cinzia Lettieri for state representative of the 35th District.
Cinzia has strong roots in the district. Not only is she a Clinton native, but she also lived and worked in Westbrook, where she was employed at the historic Westbrook landmark, Denny’s, which is now sadly gone.
Cinzia brings an impressive resume, combining policy experience with her role as a teacher. She is also a member of Clinton’s Water Pollution and Control Commission. Like Westbrook, Clinton has been working to revitalize its downtown. The main obstacle for both towns is the lack of adequate septic systems. Westbrook and Clinton have been under a state consent order for many years to address their septic issues. However, Cinzia refused to accept the old “that’s the way it’s always been,” and she decided to take action.
Cinzia worked with our Senate delegation to secure a Congressional Spending Grant to move the project forward. Since the passage of the Infrastructure Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, there has been a tremendous increase in the availability of grants for states and local governments. We need someone like Cinzia to support our town and district, someone who will work hard to help Westbrook secure grants for our town center’s septic system, new sidewalks, and other vital infrastructure.
I am passionate about supporting small businesses in Westbrook and believe our town government needs to make strategic investments in infrastructure to expand opportunities for these businesses.
I urge everyone who loves Westbrook to vote for Cinzia starting on Monday, Oct. 21, to help move our town and district forward.
