I love living in Old Saybrook, where the taxes are manageable, the schools are great, it is safe, and there is a real sense of community. Much of this is due to our ability to effectively govern locally without too much forced down from the state. However, there have been efforts in Hartford to remove local decision-making and impose municipal mandates like forced zoning and educational mandates that can weaken the quality of public schools. Thankfully, we have a state representative who has our backs.

Devin Carney has always believed in local autonomy and keeping the state out of our most important decisions that are best made by members of our community. Devin has lived most of his life in Old Saybrook, graduated from our schools, and works in the district. He has nearly 40 years of life invested in our community and, with that, the values we hold near and dear. Devin understands and trusts local partners to do the right thing and to keep outside interests at bay.

He has my vote this November because I want a representative who will always be focused on where they came from and not on special interests or party agendas. That person is Devin, and he’s proved that over the past 10 years.
