I am concerned about State Senator Christine Cohen’s recent move to block comments on her Facebook page. This action, while aimed at controlling online interactions, inadvertently affects the level of public engagement with her office.

Accessible communication channels between officials and the public are essential for effective governance. Restricting comments could reduce the opportunities for constituents to express their concerns and participate in important conversations.

I encourage Sen. Cohen to consider policies that ensure both respectful interactions and active public involvement.
