Truly Fortunate
The Essex Garden Club (EGC) would like to extend our appreciation to the entire Essex community for supporting the Club’s 2024 May Market, a wonderful event made possible by the collaborative efforts of many individuals and organizations.
Firstly, we want to thank the First Selectman’s Office, the Parks and Recreation and Health Departments for their assistance throughout the planning process.
A shout-out is due to our local vendors Acer Gardens, Ballek’s Garden Center, Essex Hardware, Riggio’s Garden Center, Saybrook Hardware, Smithland Pet & Garden Center, Tractor Supply of Old Saybrook, and Wildbirds Unlimited of Old Saybrook, whose donations made our raffle possible. Their support has enabled us to continue our efforts to nurture future generations of young people pursuing careers in environmental studies.
We would also like to recognize the Essex Lions Club for supplying the tables and chairs used at the event and the Essex Land Trust for the use of the Cross Lots parking lot. Thanks are also owed to the Essex Post Office and Essex Police Services for their assistance with parking and the flow of traffic throughout the day.
Of course, the EGC is again indebted to the many property owners who donated plants from their gardens to be sold at May Market. Our plant variety this year was noteworthy and gave our customers many options.
Last, but certainly not least, we thank the countless citizens from the community and neighboring towns who attended and supported our cause through their purchases. Your generosity and enthusiasm have helped the Essex Garden Club to perpetuate its mission of promoting gardening, conservation, and education.
We are truly fortunate to have such a supportive and vibrant community.
