Recovery Is Possible

I attended the Q&A meeting for the APT Foundation. A few people asked questions with legitimate concerns and did so in a very respectful manner. Unfortunately, many didn’t. False accusations have become the norm in our society and, sadly, have found their way to my hometown. In attendance at this Q&A meeting, I personally know of one mother who lost her son’s life to this cruel, deadly disease called addiction. The lack of empathy and compassion was so prevalent amongst those who don’t want APT in our town. All indicators show that APT will be in Guilford, and for those who don’t want them, I say, please say a prayer every time you pass the location and hope that someday you don’t have a loved one who needs their services. Because statistics show you probably will. If you are reading this and in need of help, please consider joining a 12-step recovery group. The message from me is that recovery is possible, so don’t lose hope.
