I am so proud and amazed at the support given to the Friends of Scranton Library for our town-wide membership appeal.

The gathering was planned for Feb. 13 with 45 volunteers, but due to inclement weather, it had to be postponed until the next day. The Board of the Friends spent a sleepless night, hoping that our volunteers would be able to shift their schedules.

We were blessed with the turnout! Deb Halvorsen, Colleen Cummings, Judy Andrews, Marta Carbone, Barbara Cook, Laurie Gerard, Arline Morrissey, Charles Reese, Judith Sprotzer, Diane Vanacore, Keith Luckenbach, Jerry Rourke, Joyce Rourke, Ginny Passero, Pam Skelly, Mary Jo Lee, Mary Zoeckler, Almarie Walczak, Carolyn Martinelli, Kathy Dewing, Jodi Morrison, Ellen Jordan, Pam Frye, Susannah Graedel, Mary Davis, Allison Schroeder, Gayle Buckawick, Agnes Rath, Eleanor Watt, and AnnaMarie Lane joined us and got right to work stuffing 8,800 envelopes for distribution to all Madison Postal patrons asking them to consider joining the Friends to support our Library.
