Mother Nature is ramping up her power with extreme cold and heat, along with extraordinary rain and snow storms. Clogged water basins create flooding, degrade roadways, and damage property. Replacing and scheduling maintenance of drain basins is a must. City water lines need to be updated to meet current climate environmental impacts. Decades-old sewer issues must be solved. These issues will impact the public’s health if nothing is done. This budget season, Old Saybrook Town officials need to act as stewards of the environment and increase the Public Works Budget.
